GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS - HTCIA TRI-STATE CHAPTER MEETING:
Friday, December 14th, 2007: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm EDS Office - 1187 Thorn Run Road; Suite 310; Coraopolis, PA
This quarter's presentation: Helix for Windows. Lunch will be provided, however please ensure that you RSVP to Rhonda.Bramer@eds.com by December 10th, 2007 so we can be have enough food for all attendees. If you are going to be bringing a guest please include their information in your RSVP e-mail. I must also admit that I made a procedural error during our last meeting. During the officer nominations portion of the meeting I operated under the false presumtion that there was a natural succession from 2nd VP to 1st VP. This in fact is not the case, therefore we will be reopening nominations for both Vice President positions at the direction of International. If there are multiple candidates for these position per procedure we will mail out ballots afterwards and have elections at a meeting in January of 2008. If there are not multiple candidates for any office we will conclude the election process by concensus at this meeting. As an additional note at this point in time I am removing myself from the race for Chapter Treasurer. Per our elections guidelines Bill McLuckie will still succeed me as the Chapter President.
The Current Nominees are:
1st VP: No Nominations 2nd VP: Mike Taylor Secretary; Gail Carr Treasurer: Mike Guido
As a final thought during the last meeting a few excellent ideas were brought up by the membership relating to how we might further professionalize and foster growth in our chapter. The first idea was that the chapter should adopt a logo for use on polo shirts, the website, etc. It was suggest that we open up to the membership a contest to submit designs for a new logo. As there was no formal motion regarding this I would suggest that someone from within the membership prepare a motion for the next meeting at which time we can establish a timeline for submission as well as a way to thank the creator of the selected design.
The second idea revolved around creating a membership drive program to both encourage and reward members for bringing new members into the chapter. For this matter as well I believe someone from the membership will need to propose a motion to formalize and implement the program. These were both excellent ideas and I believe they will help the chapter in moving forward and I look foward to seeing each of you at our next meeting. Regards,
